Palestine

A land lost in time
ears ring with enfilade
heavy shelling marks the sky
innocent eyes witness
to noxious fireworks
run to their averred safe confines
Dolorous wails fill the air
amidst many a flare
Faces marked with alarm
generations hacked in broad daylight
Calm on a given day disrupted
shady agendas of the damnable
Mirth is a chimera
a glum certainty
Fearless few take on
brave attempts to bring a breather,
lose their blood not to riposte
A blot on humanity
those who abet genocide,
The land now bleeds,
innumerable wonder when god heeds,
till then winds sweep across
abandoned streets and corners
In gardens swings move sans children
everything a shadow of yore,
Dawn brings awaiting downfall
It's just time before little ones will
roam secure and blissful once more.
