The Midnight Moon

I rise from my slumber
and walk towards the window
The sky brought relief to a heart almost about to crumble
as it long awaited a catharsis
and I stood amidst my room’s darkness

Moments like these are really few
my eyes sparkled as I stared at the stunning night sky
mostly black and a tinge of blue

A perfect full moon floating in the night sky
the nature calls it the apple of its eye
it’s lonely yet doesn’t make me feel alone
as it finally decided to pay a visit to my home

It stares down at me
and I stare back at it
Time stands still
and bliss sets in

It shines bright like the lantern of the dark night
and its radiance lightens up anything gloomy in sight
It’s full of spots yet so beautiful
that the ocean holds up a mirror
for the moonlight’s silver glitter

Getting a glimpse of it is such a simple luxury
when it appears in sight, all my sorrows fade away
It stole my sleep
but now as dawn gets closer
it starts to fade away

My eyes can see nothing clear
as they are welled up in tears
The sky left me wondering
why did the faraway seem so near?
