Silence doesn't know
what it feels like
to languish in a house
where words mourn
the loss of a voice.

The brutal void
can't find an outlet;
the screaming stillness weighs heavy.
The unsaid and the unspoken
lie tired in a corner
where a spider is caught in its own web.

An unlived moment
sits by the lonely window;
the curtains draw in a  memory,
the desperate door waits
to welcome a smile;

the knock never comes...
