Words that Cradle

These words will not leave
your page

They will stick it through
as long as you can

These words cradle your feelings
because they came from them
and who doesn’t cradle their mother?

Build an inner million-mile apartheid wall
worse than Israel’s
your feelings will seep through them
like water through a strainer
you’re left with pasta
so you finally use that can of sauce
and realize that life can still taste
so good.
