Anti-Flag

Poetry by Jamil Adas

Rectangular
Fixed-shaped-unit

ink
proportionally equal
within disciplined parallel lines
|boxed in colors|
demanding antiquated respect (obey)
and pride (ego)
for all (for power)

Anti-Flag
color outside their lines
We will not parrot patriotism just cause it is taboo not to

Say it like it is,
we have failed each other;
the community cannot be found

Disjointed in these homes, boxes
in these phones, boxes
in these cars, boxes
in these cubicle boxes
in these nations & flags, boxed-in

Fuck these boxes!

I'll see you out.
