Hold On

Enervating,
like hanging off
a cliff
that slowly forms an avalanche,
within and without.

I hear silence;
the loudest sound that creates chaos within my brain
I see the world around me
blurry,
unfocused,
bubbles that are waiting to pounce upon me,
entrap me.

I try to run away from it,
climb back up the cliff,
pull myself back onto the face of an unforgiving earth.

I can’t do it.

It’s exhausting
pretending its ok
when your insides squirm into knots and pulsate through your blood vessels,
rapid heartbeats.

It’s exhausting
seeing a world through a lens that never seems to clean itself,
holding onto everything when it can all just slip away
so
easily

because it’s so fragile,
because you are…

Anxiety;
the loudest sound of chaos in silence.
